Chemistry Of The Battery

Most of the marine batteries are using either of the following chemical compositions: gel, absorbed glass mat (AGM), lithium, and gel. Each of them has been made to accommodate specific marine applications.

  • Lithium - This composition is better when it comes to weight management. It is lighter than lead-acid batteries and can discharge extensively. You can easily recharge them for less than an hour, too. They are preferable types of battery banks in most electric boats.
