A hardy crew rolled up their sleeves once more and removed lots of "yucky" stuff from our Napa River! 12 hard workers (some not pictured below) pulled out 337 lbs of "stuff" from the river. The haul included 3 full backpacks, a pair of Birkenstocks (expensive shoes!) a sign, camping chair and even a large wooden cabinet that was dismantled by 3 of the team! We are waging a war of cigarette butts, so some time was focused on land, as well...collecting more than 50 of them. If we catch them on land, they won't end up in the river. Thanks to Rick Enos and Compadres Rio Grille for once again, generously hosting our after-party! Until July 11th... :)
What a great way to kick off the 2015 clean-up season! A crew of 10 collected 711lbs of trash and recycleables! Four shopping carts, a chair, two tires and a soggy, muddy baby doll...just to name a few of the "treasures" collected. Small celebration at Compadres Rio Grille on their awesome patio. Thanks again and again, Rick! Click on our Clean-up Days page on our website to see how you can be a part of the fun!!!
Two people from Utah and two from San Jose enjoyed a guided paddle north from the Riverside Launch. Thank you for sharing your afternoon with Kayak NV!
Three metal shopping carts??? Really??? How did the clean-up crew get those on their kayaks?!?!?! After feeling frustrated after the August 23rd clean-up day, Fred and Lynne...veteran clean-up crew members, obtained permission from ACE Hardware on Lincoln to use the wench on his Jeep to pull these out of the water. Paddles up to teamwork!!! That haul added to all that was extracted on this day added up to be almost 650lbs!!! You guys are amazing!!! One more clean-up day left...October 4th! Don't miss out...sign up through Napa Parks & Rec NOW!!!
Saturday, August 23rd, was the fifth clean-up day of this, our 7th season. 369lbs. of trash any recycleables were collected by a team of 16! This brings our season 7 total to over 1400lbs! Awesome job! Special shoutout to Rick Enos for always hosting the "after party" for the hardworking crew. We also tip out cap to Bailie at High Water SUP for teaming up with us to round up more trash!
Kayak NV is most grateful to all for their combined efforts to this endeavor! You are all the best!

Many thanks go out to Amy Garden, NRC (Natural Resources Conservation) Napa County Public works and CalRecycle for making this possible. Be a part of the fun...2 spots left for our May 10th clean-up day! Sign-up through Napa Parks and Rec NOW!
The 8 volunteers shown here, along with 6 others pulled 135lbs. of trash and recycleables out of our dear Napa River in just 2 hours! The Main Street Dock served as our staging area for off-loading all of our "treasures"! Among the many bottles, cans and plastic bags were a tent and a walking cane. Kudos to all of you!
Super successful clean-up day on the river on Saturday, 4-12-14! The combined efforts of more than a dozen eager participants yielded nearly 300lbs of trash and recycleables! Among the treasures gathered were two bicycles (minus the wheels), numerous balls and even an intact yard waste bin! (Picture that being hauled back to the ramp on the stern of a kayak!) We ended our day with a wonderful lunch at Compadres Rio Grille. Thanks, Rick Enos! Congrats to all! Next clean-up day is May 10, 2014.
Kayak NV would like to honor Jim Hensch and his many contributions to preserving and beautifying the Napa River. Jim's positive spirit and love for the river inspired all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
